Privacy Policy
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of PDF Scanner: Size Limit (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App on Apple or Android devices. It applies to the App and related support communications.
2. Scanned Documents and PDF Processing
The App is designed to scan document pages, process images, estimate file size, compress content, and create PDF files locally on your device. We do not operate a server that receives or stores your scanned pages or generated PDFs for document processing.
- Scans and generated PDFs remain on your device unless you choose to save, export, or share them.
- When you share or save a file using another app, cloud service, email provider, or system feature, that third party handles the file under its own terms and privacy policy.
- You are responsible for deciding where files are saved and with whom they are shared.
- We do not sell scanned document content and do not provide document content to advertisers.
3. Device Permissions
The App or the device's system scanning service may request access needed to scan, select, save, or share documents. Depending on your device and the feature you use, this may include access to the camera, photos, media, or files. These permissions are used only to provide the feature you request. You may manage permissions in your device settings, although disabling a required permission may prevent that feature from working.
4. Information We Handle Directly
The App does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, postal address, phone number, or payment information.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use it to answer your request, provide support, protect the App, and maintain necessary business records. Please do not send confidential documents or sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your support request.
5. Advertising and Third-Party Services
The App uses Google AdMob to provide optional rewarded advertisements and may use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage privacy choices where required. Google Mobile Ads services may automatically collect or process information such as:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
- device and app identifiers, including an advertising identifier where available;
- app and advertisement interactions, such as app launches, taps, ad impressions, and video views;
- diagnostic and performance information, such as crash-related data, launch time, hang rate, or energy usage; and
- advertising data, such as ads shown to or interacted with by a user.
Google may use this information for advertising, measurement, analytics, security, and fraud prevention according to its own policies. Depending on your region, consent choices, device settings, and applicable law, ads may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, or based only on technical delivery requirements.

6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your scanned documents or generated PDFs. Information may be processed or shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- with service providers such as Google AdMob as described above;
- when you intentionally export or share a file through another service;
- when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental requests;
- to protect users, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, or defend legal rights; or
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the App, subject to applicable law.
7. Data Retention
We do not retain scanned pages or generated PDFs on our servers because they are not uploaded to us for processing. Files remain on your device or in the destination you select until you delete them. Support emails may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations. Third-party services retain information according to their own policies and settings.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate to the App's design. However, no device, storage system, transmission method, or third-party service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect your device, review files before sharing them, and avoid sending sensitive documents through services you do not trust.
9. Children
The App is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through our own account or cloud document-processing systems. Advertising and consent handling may be adjusted where required by applicable law, platform rules, audience settings, or information provided to the App.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. Because the App does not maintain user accounts or upload scanned documents to our servers, we may not hold document data that can be accessed or deleted on your behalf.
- Delete scans and PDFs from your device or the destination where you saved them.
- Manage app permissions in your device settings.
- Manage advertising identifiers and ad-personalization settings through your Apple or Android device settings.
- Where available or required, use the App's privacy-options control to review or change advertising consent choices.
- Contact us regarding information you voluntarily sent through support email.
11. International Processing
Third-party services may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their processing is subject to their own safeguards, contractual terms, and applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, third-party services, legal requirements, or business practices. The revised policy will show a new effective date. Your continued use of the App after an update means the updated policy applies to future use, subject to any additional consent required by law.
